Supply exceptions

Stockly → Warehouses → Transfers → Supply exceptions is the screen that lists the cases in which what is owed and what is coming no longer agree. The remaining pages of this chapter describe work that proceeds as planned; this page describes the exceptions, and each kind is resolved by a different role.

When the list is empty, the message states it: nothing is owed that a shelf could cover, no ride has become pointless, and no promise has been broken.

ExceptionWhat it means
Owed, but on the shelfthe order waits for goods that stand free on a shelf
Transfer no longer neededthe shelves have covered what a ride was raised for
Promise overduea document has passed the date it promised
Nothing on the waygoods are owed and nobody has bought them

The columns are the same for all four: Exception, Order, Product, Units, Document and Promised. Exception kind and Warehouse narrow the list, and the kind filter carries the count beside each entry, so the distribution of the exceptions is visible before a group is opened.

The order is waiting for goods that are standing free in the same building.

This is not a warehouse problem. Nothing has to travel and nothing has to be purchased, because what failed is the earmark. It concerns the order and not the supply.

A ride was raised because a shelf was short, and the shelf is no longer short.

The action depends on where the goods are. While the transfer is still at the dock, cancel it. Once it has departed, let it arrive and accept the surplus, because recalling a transfer in transit costs more than the goods it carries.

A document has passed the date it promised and the order is still waiting on it. The date is the one on the document and not an estimate produced by the module, so it has to be clarified with the party that made the promise.

Goods are owed and nobody has bought them. This is the only kind on this screen that is a purchasing decision, because the other three are about goods that already exist somewhere.
