Waiting for a shelf

Stockly → Returns → Waiting for a shelf lists goods a decision has already sent back into stock, which are still standing in the receiving buffer with no shelf of their own.

The rail entry carries an hourglass and a counter, because nothing else on that rail indicates that the queue is growing.

These goods are already sellable

This queue does not hold up any sale. The units became sellable the moment Back to stock was recorded; only their place in the warehouse is still open. Working the queue is about finding things later, not about releasing them.

That is also why an empty queue is not a sign that nothing came back: it means everything that came back has a shelf.

The list

Rows are lots, not claim lines: a lot is what physically moves, and one claim received twice produced two of them, possibly with two different destinations.

Only goods a customer sent back appear here. Supplier deliveries waiting in the same buffer belong to the purchase order that ordered them and are put away from its own screen.

Putting it away

Tick the rows and press Put away.

If everything selected stands in one warehouse, the put-away opens straight away. If the selection spans several, Which warehouse asks which one to work now; goods are put away one building at a time, and the rest stay on the list.

From there the ordinary put-away takes over: it suggests a bin for each lot, plans a route through the hall, accepts scans and handles licence plates. A destination named at receipt is honoured rather than replaced by a suggestion.

What booking it changes

The stock figure does not move at all. The goods travel from the receiving buffer to a shelf, and both count as available, so a put-away is invisible to what a customer can buy. What changes is that the lot now has a location somebody can be sent to.

The lot keeps naming the claim it came back on even after it reaches the shelf, which is what takes it off this queue and keeps it off.

Adding a return by hand

The same work can be started from inside a put-away: + Add → Return in the operations toolbar, then pick the claim. Only claims whose goods a decision has already sent back to stock have anything to add; until then they wait in the holding area for that decision.

Note

Goods that reached the receiving buffer before this queue existed carry no link back to their claim, so they cannot appear here. They are still real stock waiting for a shelf, and the product page counts them under Awaiting put-away; move them with an ordinary stock movement, or add the article by hand to a put-away with + Add → Product.
