Document rules

Some shipping modules never hand a label over directly; they store it as an ordinary Shopware document. A rule covers that case: the document type and the printer are selected, and every new document of that type is printed.

Stockly → Operations → Printing → Document rules.

Columns: Document type, Sales channel, Printer, Source format, Only when the order is, Active.

Add rule opens the form.

  • Document type — which Shopware document triggers it.
  • Sales channel — or All channels.
  • Printer — where it goes.
  • Source formatDetect automatically, PDF, ZPL or EPL. It is left on detection unless a module stores something the detection identifies incorrectly.
  • Only when the order is — the order state condition.

Documents are PDF and belong on an office printer

Section titled “Documents are PDF and belong on an office printer”

A label printer speaks ZPL and will not take a PDF. A job aimed at one fails in the queue and states the reason.

Carrier labels are unaffected: a shipping module that hands over ZPL goes straight to the label printer without a rule.

Documents of that type are no longer printed automatically. Nothing already printed is affected.
