Switching on the warehouse terminal
The warehouse terminal is the picking and packing screen available on a handheld device. On a new installation the function is disabled by default. Before an operator can sign in, four separate conditions have to be met: an active setting, a reachable network address, an enrolled device and an assigned person with a PIN. A missing element is reported on a separate screen in each case.
This page goes through the configuration in an order that removes the usual blocking points and allows the terminal to be put into operation without unnecessary error messages.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”The device has to reach an https address. The camera and offline working both require a secure context. On a plain http address the browser blocks both, and the application reports it. → The terminal app
An operator account that is not an administrator is required. A terminal PIN cannot be assigned to an administrator account. The module rejects the attempt explicitly instead of weakening the sign-in.
At least one warehouse has to exist. The device is enrolled against the building in which it is used. → Warehouses
1. Switch the terminal on
Section titled “1. Switch the terminal on”Stockly → Settings → Order Packing → tab General → card Warehouse terminal → Enable the warehouse terminal (PWA).
Until this setting is enabled, two other screens do not perform their part, and both of them name it: the terminal list displays The warehouse terminal is switched off for this shop, so no device can be enrolled., and the PIN card on a user states that a PIN would open nothing. Both screens offer Open settings.
2. Enrol the device
Section titled “2. Enrol the device”Stockly → Warehouses → Terminals → Add terminal. The first step defines the name of the device and its purpose; the second step displays the code.
Signs in as is optional and intentionally limited in scope. It is intended for a bench that stays in one place, not for a handheld that is passed from operator to operator. The role determines only which work is offered on this device. It grants no permissions, because the scope of what an operator may do is defined by that operator’s own permissions.

Address determines which of the shop’s addresses the device is directed to. Select the address the tablet can actually reach. Offline working is available on https only.
3. Scan the code on the device
Section titled “3. Scan the code on the device”Show the code produces a QR code and the same code in text form. It is valid for fifteen minutes and works once and only for this terminal: a second device that scans it is rejected and requires a code of its own. An expired code is replaced from the row menu, under Enrolment code.
On the device, point the camera at the code. Most phones read a QR code directly from the camera application, without installing anything. Once the device responds, the wizard displays This device is enrolled. → Setting up a device
4. Give an operator a PIN
Section titled “4. Give an operator a PIN”Settings → System → Users & permissions → select user → card Terminal PIN → PIN and Repeat PIN, four to six digits, saved together with the rest of the form. The card states the current status of the account: No PIN set — this operator cannot sign in at a terminal yet. Remove PIN takes the credential away again, and setting a new PIN also lifts a lock-out caused by repeated wrong attempts.
5. Give that operator the permission
Section titled “5. Give that operator the permission”A PIN allows an operator to reach the sign-in screen. It does not determine what that operator may do afterwards. Their role requires the permission Work on a warehouse terminal (everything a picking and packing shift needs). Without it, the first action on the terminal is rejected. → Privileges
Checking it works
Section titled “Checking it works”Open the terminal address on the device. The screen displays Who is working?, lists the operators who have a PIN, and accepts the PIN on a keypad. From there the operator can take a wave and collect it.
When the device is not recognised as a terminal
Section titled “When the device is not recognised as a terminal”Not a terminal yet means that the code was never scanned on this device, or that its credentials were revoked. Issue a new code from the row menu — Enrolment code — and scan it again. A code that has already been used cannot be used a second time.
