Storage rules

Storage rules decide where goods may be placed. Bin suggestion at put-away takes them into account, so a rule defined once, for example that chemicals are not stored next to food, applies to every subsequent put-away.

Stockly → Warehouses → warehouse → Storage Rules, which holds three levels:

  • Warehouse rules — apply across the building,
  • Stockly → Warehouses → warehouse → Element rules — apply to a single rack,
  • Stockly → Warehouses → warehouse → Bin rules — apply to a single location.

The scopes run from broadest to narrowest. A rack rule describes an exception to a building rule, and a bin rule an exception to a rack rule.

Every rule has a Priority. A lower number wins, and the first matching rule decides rather than the sum of the matches. Exceptions therefore go higher and general rules lower.

The Active switch disables a rule without deleting it.

The Match conditions section has a single field: Match rule. It points at a rule from Shopware’s Settings → Rules, which is the standard condition mechanism, extended with the conditions Stockly ships for matching on product properties.

The Placement constraints section:

  • Allowed zones — placement only in these zones. An empty field permits any zone.
  • Denied zones — no placement in these zones. A denial beats an allowance.

Zones are assigned to floor elements — see Floor elements.

The Cross-contamination (do not place near) section with Exclusion rule: products matching the named rule may not share a floor element with the product this rule matched.

This is the tool for keeping apart goods that should not stand together, such as chemicals and food, scented and scent-sensitive goods, or items in different safety classes.

Rules do not block the operator; they determine the suggestions. At put-away the module proposes locations that comply with them, and forbidden locations are not proposed. → Put-away
