Overstock
Overstock costs less visibly than shortage: there are no complaints and no lost sales, only frozen capital and occupied space. This report identifies it.

How to read it
Section titled “How to read it”Overstock is measured against the maximum threshold, so the report is only as good as the thresholds are. Before any discount, check whether the threshold predates a season in which the product sold differently. → Min/max thresholds
Acting on the report
Section titled “Acting on the report”- Move it where it sells — overstock in one building is often a shortage in another. → Replenishment suggestions
- Stop reordering — check that reorder suggestions are not proposing to top up a line that is already sitting.
- Check whether it is actually dead — if the goods do not sell at all, the right report is Dead Stock.
