3D view
The floor plan can be viewed flat or in three dimensions. The 2D / 3D switch sits above the drawing (Stockly → Warehouses → warehouse → Floor Plan), and Exit 3D leaves the three-dimensional mode.
What it is for
Section titled “What it is for”The flat drawing shows the position, the three-dimensional view shows the height and the depth. It is useful when the address alone is not sufficient:
- the height at which goods are stored is visible, which indicates whether a forklift is needed,
- the fill level of a rack is visible, so empty upper levels are apparent immediately,
- the layout can be explained to a new operator more easily than from a list of codes.
3D Boxes adds volumes representing the goods on the locations.
Moving around
Section titled “Moving around”Rotating, panning and zooming work with the mouse; clicking an element opens its details exactly as in the flat view.
On a tablet, on which the hall map is normally used, one finger rotates or moves the view, and two fingers zoom: moving them apart zooms in, moving them together zooms out. The zoom is always centred on the point between the fingers, so moving them apart over a rack brings that rack closer and not the middle of the screen.
During a run
Section titled “During a run”While an operator is collecting, the view follows the bin they are walking to and keeps it in the middle of the space that is actually free. The picking route panel covers one side of the drawing, so a bin centred on the canvas would be hidden behind it; the view centres on the visible area. → Pick execution
What the 3D view does not replace
Section titled “What the 3D view does not replace”- It is not an editor. Racks are drawn in the flat view; the three-dimensional mode is for looking. Edit is offered here all the same: choosing an editor switches the map to the flat view it works in, and Done returns it to 3D. → Floor plan
- It is not a simulation. The volumes match dimensions and fill, but they do not reflect how boxes are arranged on a shelf.
- It is not a source of capacity. Capacity comes from the element’s parameters and the floor scale, not from what it looks like on screen. → Floor elements
