Integrity checks

The integrity check verifies whether the module’s figures agree with each other. It does not compare the shelf with the system; that is the purpose of a stocktake. It looks for internal contradictions: reservations with no cover, stock with no location, rules pointing at a building that cannot do the job.

Runs

The Integrity runs list shows Status, Trigger, Progress, Findings, Started, Finished. Checks run automatically, and manually through New run.

Note

Automatic runs that find nothing are discarded, so the list only shows runs with findings. An empty list means that no findings were recorded, not that the check is missing.

A run can be deleted, but its findings and the record of what the repairs changed go with it.

Findings

Opening a run shows the findings: Product, Warehouse, Check, Severity (Critical or Warning), Expected, Actual, Delta, Seen, Last seen, Resolved.

The Seen column counts how often the same problem recurred; a recurring finding has a different meaning than a single occurrence.

What is checked

There are dozens of checks, and they fall into the following groups:

Stock against its components — stock versus the sum of batches, stock versus the placement ledger, stock with no location at all, an empty unassigned row, a variant parent holding its own stock despite variant roll-up being on.

Reservations and demand — a reservation without an order, a reservation without an allocation, a reservation on a location holding nothing, an order line declaring no demand, demand with no cover and no backorder, negative or over-reserved values, and the backorder gap disagreeing with what the coverage model says it should be. That gap is the number the backorder tabs list on, so a discrepancy there means work missing from that list.

Network and sourcing — cover sitting outside the building the order landed in, cover reachable only by a transfer, demand on a node that cannot serve it, a rule pointing at an incapable warehouse, a rule that can never match because another always wins.

Handling units — a carrier spanning several locations, a carrier in the wrong warehouse, a nested unit not with its parent, stock on a closed carrier.

Transfers — a transit bin disagreeing with the transfers in transit.

Configuration — the only group that is not about a product. A state that is both the in-progress state and on the list customers may cancel from, customer cancellation switched on with no in-progress state to close the gate, and a return reason demanding photographs while the form allows none. → Returns settings

Repairing

• Repair this product fixes a single finding.
• Repair selected fixes the selected rows, with a progress bar.

Not everything can be repaired automatically, and that is deliberate. A finding such as stock with no location at all requires a decision by an operator, because the module does not determine which shelf those goods belong on. Such rows carry a recommendation instead of a repair, stating what to do.

If a repair ran but a check still reports a discrepancy, the module reports it and names the checks that still fail, instead of reporting success.
