Handling units (LP)
A handling unit, abbreviated to LP in the module after license plate, is a pallet, container or trolley with its own barcode. Instead of moving twenty lines, one code is moved, and the module records what is on it.

The list
Section titled “The list”Columns: LP Code, Warehouse, Current Bin, Nested Under, Updated. Filters work by warehouse and code.
Nested Under shows the parent carrier, because a carrier can stand on another carrier, as containers do on a pallet.
Operations
Section titled “Operations”- Palletize — collect loose goods onto a carrier.
- Move LP — move the whole carrier to another location; the goods travel with it.
- Depalletize — take goods off a carrier, back to loose stock.
- Load onto LP… — load this carrier onto another one (nesting).
- Detach from parent LP — detach from the parent carrier.
Each of these is recorded in movement history under its own type, so the record shows not only where goods are but how they got there.
When carriers make sense
Section titled “When carriers make sense”- Goods arrive on pallets and are put away the same way.
- Transfers between buildings travel as whole carriers.
- Picking is carried out onto a trolley, and the trolley is scanned as a unit.
If none of that applies, carriers can be switched off entirely — see License plate (LP) mode in warehouse settings.
A warehouse has three settings for carriers:
- Off — no carriers,
- Optional — carriers allowed, loose goods fine too,
- Required — put-away must scan a carrier.
