Quality control rules

Stockly → Operations → Quality Control collects the rules deciding what is subject to quality control at receipt. Running the inspection itself is described in Quality control.

Four dimensions

Each dimension takes a Required policy or inheritance; the decision then falls through: product → category → manufacturer → supplier → the global default.

This allows coverage to be limited to a new supplier, to sensitive goods, or to a manufacturer with a history of problems, rather than to everything or nothing.

Overview

The Overview screen shows the current picture: what is awaiting a verdict and how it is spread across suppliers.

Simulator

Stockly → Operations → Quality Control → Simulator answers “would this delivery go to inspection” before it arrives. A product and, optionally, a supplier are selected, and the module shows the outcome together with the rule that decided it and the full resolution trace.

Tip

Check rules with the simulator, not with a delivery. The most common configuration mistake is a policy that accidentally covers the whole catalogue; the simulator catches it in seconds.

Switching the mechanism on

Both decisions sit on the Overview screen of this section: whether goods are inspected at all, and what happens to a batch that fails, which either stays in quarantine or is scrapped.
