Put-away
A delivery ends in the buffer, not on a shelf. Put-away is the work that moves goods to their target location, and the location of the goods is known only once it has been carried out.
Starting
Section titled “Starting”Three routes lead to the same screen:
- Stockly → Warehouses → warehouse → Operations → New put-away,
- from a purchase order, after receiving → Receiving,
- from a transfer that has arrived → Transfers.
An operation created from a document has its type locked: the document defines the work, and the operation cannot be turned into a pick.
The list
Section titled “The list”Put-away list shows what is waiting in the buffer. Every line requires a target location. If a purchase order has already been put away in full, the module reports it.
Location suggestions
Section titled “Location suggestions”The location field has two modes: manual selection, or a request for a proposal (Suggest slot / Auto-suggest slot). The list groups locations into Contains this product and Other bins, and Open floor map shows them on the floor plan marked Free or Occupied.
Every proposal carries a reason, so it is clear why that location:
| Reason | What it means |
|---|---|
| Reuses existing bin | this product already sits there |
| Last known location | it sat there last time |
| Near existing stock, Consolidated | close to the rest of these goods |
| Same expiry batch, Shared with batch | the same lot or expiry |
| Matching zone | a zone matching the storage rule |
| Near related, Often bought together | close to goods picked together |
| Near door | close to the entrance, i.e. a short route |
| Ergonomic shelf | a comfortable height |
| Right-sized fit, Tight fit, Weight limited | fit against capacity and weight |
| Soonest to expire, Most in stock, Only stock location | the lot expiring first, the location holding most of these goods, or the only one holding them |
| Straight off the inbound dock | the goods have just been received and this shelf is the nearest to the dock |
| Manually picked | chosen by hand by the operator |
If no location fits, the module reports that it cannot propose one instead of naming an arbitrary location.
Suggestions respect the storage rules: a location in a forbidden zone is never proposed.
Carriers
Section titled “Carriers”In a warehouse working with carriers, the carrier (LP) is named at put-away. In Required mode it is mandatory; in Optional goods may also be placed loose. → Handling units
When goods already travel on a whole carrier, the field is locked, because the whole carrier moves together rather than line by line.
Undoing
Section titled “Undoing”Put-away books real movements, and so does undoing it: Reset moves placed lines back into the receiving buffer, one movement per line. The module states how many lines are affected and asks for confirmation.
In movement history it shows as Put-away and Undo put-away.
Effect on the purchase order
Section titled “Effect on the purchase order”Put-away advances the purchase order: while goods stand in the buffer, receiving is unfinished. Once the buffer empties, the order is marked as put away. → Purchase order lifecycle
