Dead Stock

Dead stock is goods with no sales over a longer period. Unlike overstock, this is not about “too much” but about “not at all”.

Stockly → Dashboard → Dead Stock.

  • Dead Stock Products — how many products do not sell at all.
  • Frozen Value — how much money is frozen in them.
  • Share of Inventory — what share of total stock that is.
  • Avg. Days Since Last Sale — the average days since anything sold.

The switch offers four views: By Frozen Value, Longest Unsold, By Manufacturer and By Category.

Inactivity Distribution is not one of them; it is a separate chart below the table, showing the spread of time without a sale.

Columns: Product, Product number, Stock, Frozen Value, Days Since Sale, Manufacturer, Category.

Price Drop — No Effect shows products whose price was cut without sales moving. It answers whether a discount still makes sense or the problem lies elsewhere.

Dead Stock Restocked shows products whose stock grew despite no sales, which usually indicates that the reordering automation is working off thresholds nobody has updated.

The report rests on daily product snapshots. Fresh after a rollout it will be empty, and the module states this; data appears after the snapshot task has been running for a few days.
