Till settings
Stockly → Settings → Till settings.
The page has two tabs, General and Barcode Scanner, and it holds what applies to the till across the shop. How one counter works, meaning its drawer, its printers and what a cashier may do there, is set separately in the till profile of the sales channel.
Sell what the shop has run out of is stored for each sales channel and follows the shop selector at the top of the page. The remaining fields apply to the whole installation.
General
Section titled “General”The tab holds one card, Point of sale.
Enable the till switches the till on for the shop.
Roles that may approve a discount names the people who can release a discount above the limit set in the till profile. The approval is given at the counter, with the approver’s own PIN or by scanning their badge. Left empty, nothing can be approved and the limit simply holds.
Show the keyboard bar on tills controls the strip along the bottom of the sale screen that lists what the keyboard can do. A cashier who has learned it can put it away on their own till; switching this setting off and on again restores it on every till in the shop.
Sell what the shop has run out of applies where the customer is holding the article and the stock figure says there is none. Switched on, the till sells it and leaves the stock negative for the shop to correct; switched off, the till refuses the line and reports it. Set for each sales channel.
Roles that work at a till limits the sign-in screen to users in those roles. Left empty, every user who has a PIN is offered.
Barcode Scanner
Section titled “Barcode Scanner”Fields for barcode matching determines which product codes a scan at the counter is matched against, and in which order: Product number, EAN, Manufacturer number. A receipt, a loyalty card and a packing label are recognised by their own prefix before this setting is consulted. With nothing selected the till matches the product number and the EAN.
The Sounds section controls the signal after a scan: on a successful product scan, when a product is not found, and when a sale is finished. Sound delay after scan (seconds) postpones the signal so that it does not overlap the scanner’s own beep.
