Tiles
Stockly → Operations → POS → Till profiles → select profile → Tiles.
Tiles are the buttons on the sale screen for goods that have no barcode to hold under a scanner: goods sold loose by weight, and a charge agreed at the counter. A till with no tiles at all still sells everything that scans.
They belong to one till profile, so two shops selling through two sales channels keep their own buttons.
Where they appear
Section titled “Where they appear”Tiles are displayed above the shelf on the sale screen, and only while the whole shop is being browsed. Inside a department, in a search and on the pinned shortlist they are not displayed, because the goods on screen are then the ones the cashier asked for.
The list
Section titled “The list”Columns Order, What the button says, Product and Price. In the price column, a tile with no product behind it reads open line and one that sells a product reads from the product.
The arrows in the row move a tile up or down. Add tile creates one; the row offers Edit and Delete.
One tile
Section titled “One tile”What the button says is the shop’s own wording rather than the catalogue name: it has to fit a button and be legible at a glance.
Product is the article the tile sells. Left empty, the tile becomes an open line: goods the catalogue does not carry, sold at the price below and taxed at the Tax rate for an open line of the till profile.
Price applies only to an open line. A tile with a product behind it is sold at the price the sales channel states, so a price change in the catalogue applies to the button without any edit on this screen.
Order determines where the button sits in the grid. The position should be kept stable once a counter is used to it.
Deleting
Section titled “Deleting”Delete removes the button after a confirmation. The articles behind it stay in the catalogue; only the button is removed.
Tiles and the pinned shortlist
Section titled “Tiles and the pinned shortlist”Two lists of buttons, with different owners and purposes:
| Whose it is | What it is for | |
|---|---|---|
| Tiles | the merchant’s, set here, the same on every counter of the profile | goods that do not scan |
| Pinned shortlist | the cashier’s own, set at the counter and kept per device | a shortcut to articles that do scan |
Pinning is done from the catalogue at the till → Selling at the till.
