Unify
Unify rewrites text so it follows a consistent format. You define a format specification in plain text (or let the AI infer one from sample products), and the AI then applies that spec to every record. Use this when descriptions in the same category were written by different people and look inconsistent — different sections, different lengths, different formatting choices.
How to use
Section titled “How to use”The Unify modal opens from the text editor toolbar when you’re editing a translatable field that has the Unify action available. The fields are:
- Format specification — plain text describing the desired structure (e.g. “First paragraph: who the product is for. Then a bullet list of three highlights. End with one sentence about care instructions.”).
- Extract format from 3 recent products — button that asks the AI to infer a spec from the three most recently edited products. Useful as a starting point.
- Target languages — multi-select; default is the admin’s active language.
- Fields to process (multi-field contexts only) — toggle which fields are included.
- Open a product or category form.
- Click the AI assistant button on the text editor toolbar and pick Unify formatting….
- Paste or type a format specification — or click Extract format from 3 recent products to have the AI propose one.
- Pick target languages and click Run AI.
- Review per-language tabs with the Compare button, tick Apply switches, then click Apply.
In bulk, run unify.product or unify.category as a job from AI Assistant → Jobs → New job.
Configuration
Section titled “Configuration”- Format spec — keep it on the prompt template or save it as an inline profile (
unifytask type) so you don’t retype it across products. - Custom instructions — extra rules that don’t fit cleanly in the spec, e.g. “Never invent specs not present in the original”.
