Image Finder

Image Finder searches the web for photos of a product and presents them as candidates you can review and add. It never invents image links — it filters real product-page images returned by the search engine, applies your size and format rules, and shows you why anything was rejected.

Image Finder needs a search engine key to look beyond your own media. It uses the Tavily Search API: Tavily returns real product-page links and the plugin extracts the image from each page, so the AI only filters what Tavily finds. Without a key the web search is off and only your existing media library is checked.

To set the key up:

  1. Create a Tavily account.
  2. Open your Tavily dashboard and copy the API key (it starts with tvly-).
  3. In the admin, go to Settings → AI Assistant → API, paste the key into the Tavily Search API card, click Test API key to verify it, then Save.

The card also has a Get your API key link straight to Tavily.

  1. Open a product: Catalogues → Products → select a product.
  2. In the Media card, click AI assistant and choose Image Finder.
  3. Fill in the form:
    • Search instructions — describe the visual style you want for every candidate (background, lighting, watermarks, people).
    • Min/Max width, Min/Max height, Min size (KB), Max size (MB) — resolution and file-size limits applied to every candidate.
    • Number of suggestions — how many candidates to return.
    • AI model — leave on the default for Image Finder, or pick a specific connection.
  4. Click Search. Results are split into a Web tab and a Local tab (matches already in your library carry an In library badge).
  5. Review the candidates. You can add or remove Tags on each one and follow the Source page link to see where it came from.
  6. Tick the images you want and click Apply to add them to the product.

If every candidate was dropped, expand the rejected-candidates panel — each rejection is grouped by reason (Too small, Too large, Unreachable, Wrong type, No image markup, Duplicate) with a hint on how to adjust the form.

  • Accepted file types — set under Settings → AI Assistant → Options → Image Finder. Add a format (e.g. WebP) if candidates are dropped as Wrong type.
  • Search engine keySettings → AI Assistant → API, Tavily Search API card.
