Generate SEO
The Generate SEO feature fills the three SEO fields Shopware exposes on every product and category — meta title, meta description and keywords — based on the existing name and description. It works for one record at a time from the SEO card, or in bulk from the AI Assistant module.
How to use
Section titled “How to use”From a product
Section titled “From a product”- Open any product in Catalogue → Products.
- Switch to the SEO tab.
- Click the AI assistant button in the SEO card header.
- The modal opens with three fields:
- Profile — pick a saved inline profile (optional, see Inline profiles)
- AI connection — the model that will run the request
- Additional instructions (optional) — free-text instructions, e.g. “Mention the brand at the end of the title”
- Click Generate — the modal expands with three editable proposals: Meta title, Meta description, Keywords, plus the model’s reasoning.
- Edit any field, then click Apply to form to copy the values into the SEO form.
- Save the product.
If the product has variants, turn on Apply to variants to generate SEO for the selected variants too. Each variant runs as a background job and you review its result per variant — see Working with variants.
From a category
Section titled “From a category”The flow is identical: open a category from Catalogues → Categories, the SEO tab, and click AI assistant in the SEO card header. The plugin uses the generate_seo.category template instead of generate_seo.product.
In bulk
Section titled “In bulk”To generate SEO for hundreds or thousands of records at once:
- Go to AI Assistant → Jobs → New job.
- Pick Generate SEO as the type and choose product or category.
- Filter the records to process (categories, manufacturers, sales channels, “missing SEO only”, etc.).
- Pick the AI connection and the target languages.
- Start the job. Progress and per-row suggestions show up in the jobs detail page.
- Review and apply suggestions individually or in bulk.
Configuration
Section titled “Configuration”Each SEO field has a recommended length range driven by what Google shows on the SERP:
- Meta title — 30–60 characters
- Meta description — 100–160 characters
- Keywords — 20–200 characters
The default prompt enforces these ranges in its system instructions. You can override the per-field constraints in the prompt template if you have a different house style.
