Multilingual videos
If your store sells in multiple languages, you can attach a different video to each language for the same product — useful when you have voice-over content, subtitles burnt in, or completely separate ads per market.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”Each Mediaverse media entry has a translations map that holds an alternative media ID (or URL) per language ISO. When a customer browses in a given language, the storefront picks the localised entry first and falls back to the default if there is no translation.
How to set up a translation
Section titled “How to set up a translation”- Open a product → Media tab → pick a video.
- In the Mediaverse side panel, switch to the Other languages tab.
- For each additional language, either:
- Pick a different media file from the library (for local HTML5), or
- Paste a different URL (for embeds), or
- Add alternative video sources (multi-resolution) per language.
- Save the product.
Hiding videos without a translation
Section titled “Hiding videos without a translation”If you want to only show a video to customers in its native language (rather than fall back), enable:
Settings → Plugins → Mediaverse → Video → Hide videos without translation
With this on, customers browsing in a language that has no translation for a given video will not see that video at all.
Storefront behaviour
Section titled “Storefront behaviour”- The localised entry replaces the default one in the gallery, the cover, and the carousel.
- Thumbnails are fetched per language for embedded sources where the localised URL differs (e.g. localised YouTube URLs).
- For HTML5, you can also attach localised multi-resolution sources.
