Embed video

Mediaverse can embed video from six external sources. You paste a URL into the Embed Video card on a product media entry and the plugin recognises the source, fetches a thumbnail, and renders the right embed code on the storefront.

  • YouTube — also youtube-nocookie.com for GDPR-friendly embedding, plus YouTube Shorts URLs
  • Vimeo — including advanced privacy mode, creator info, portrait, controls colour
  • Facebook
  • TikTok
  • Dailymotion
  • G-Core — CDN-hosted videos

Each source can be configured globally in Settings → Plugins → Mediaverse → Embed, where the configuration page has a tab per source (General / YouTube / Vimeo / Facebook / TikTok / Dailymotion / G-Core). Per-video overrides live on the product media entry’s Settings tab.

  1. Open a product → Media tab.
  2. Click Add file or Add from media library to create a media entry, then select it.
  3. In the Mediaverse side panel, find the Embed Video card. Paste the URL into the input and click Add — Mediaverse auto-detects YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, TikTok, Dailymotion and G-Core.
  4. The thumbnail is fetched automatically for YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok and Dailymotion.
  5. Switch to the Settings tab inside the media entry to set per-video playback (autoplay, muted, loop, controls, start / end time, theme).
  6. Save the product.

The Settings tab exposes common controls across all sources:

  • Autoplay, Muted, Loop, Controls, Play inline
  • Start video at / End video at — clip the playable range (YouTube, Vimeo)
  • Keyboard — keyboard shortcuts inside the iframe
  • Mark as cover — use this video as the product listing cover

YouTube and Vimeo expose additional source-specific options:

  • YouTube — nocookie mode, poster on pause, delay first play, seeking behavior, eight player themes (configured globally in Embed → YouTube)
  • Vimeo — advanced privacy mode, Creator, Title, Portrait, controls colour

If Settings → Plugins → Mediaverse → Video → Do not require cookies accept is off (default), embedded iframes for third-party sources are gated behind a cookie consent overlay. The customer must accept cookies before the iframe loads.
