Hide default Shopware badges
Shopware ships with three plain labels that render on product images automatically: the discount percentage (-15%), the “Top Seller” label and the “New” label. When you replace these with the plugin’s styled badges, you usually want the Shopware labels to disappear so the design does not show two stacked badges for the same condition.
The toggle
Section titled “The toggle”Go to Settings → Plugins → Product Badges → General and switch on Hide default Shopware badges. With the toggle on:
- The Shopware discount-percent label is suppressed.
- The Shopware “Top Seller” label is suppressed.
- The Shopware “New” label is suppressed.
Your custom plugin badges keep rendering as configured.
Badge position relative to Shopware labels
Section titled “Badge position relative to Shopware labels”If you keep the Shopware labels (toggle off), you can still control whether the plugin badges sit above or below them. Use the Badge position vs. Shopware labels field on the same General tab.
- Above — plugin badges render first, then Shopware’s labels below.
- Below — Shopware’s labels render first, then plugin badges below.
This only matters when both kinds of label coexist.
Recommended setup
Section titled “Recommended setup”The two common configurations:
Full replacement
Section titled “Full replacement”Turn the toggle on and define your own Discount, New and Top Seller badges. Your design system fully takes over.
Augmented
Section titled “Augmented”Leave the toggle off and use plugin badges only for marketing-driven labels (promotions, sales ribbons) on top of Shopware’s defaults. Set Badge position to Above so the plugin’s badges stay visually dominant.
Caveats
Section titled “Caveats”- The toggle is global. There is no per-product or per-sales-channel override.
- If you turn the toggle off again later, your products will immediately show both Shopware labels and any active automatic plugin badges (Discount, Top Seller, New). Make sure that’s the look you want.
